Hey guys! I made this character named Merle Elliot Wallis. He's an army veteran who was a little too good at what he did overseas. He's real sharp at shooting and finds happiness wherever there's a pointed gun. He's an avid hunter and has mounts all over his house, if that's any indication. He's an odd and coarse man. He tackles life with a devil may care attitude and a tendency to shoot first and ask questions later. Though he's rough around the edges, he cleans up nice if he has the motivation to. He'll probably spend a lot of time at the bar, seeing as he likes to drink. Or the woods. Since he likes to hunt.
So, I can see friends with Merlie, though they have to work at it, but he does have a few shortcuts. He's an animal lover, so that has to count for something. His two dogs are spoiled in the way of life he has. He walks them off leash, outdoors with him, they stick close because they are loyal. Beau is a more aloof hound/shepherd mix, but Charlie is a some sort of golden retriever-farm collie mix who likes to run into people, so that should be an easy way to force him to say hi to people. Overall, he's a bit standoffish and rude with people. Mostly because he's the sort to not give a damn. And, if someone holds that against him, well... he's got a gun. Merlie has got a good sense of humor though. When someone breaks the ice, he tends to jokey and chatty, though can clam up if subjects touches into the many things he considers classified information. However, once you get Merle on your side, you've got him for good--he's loyal almost to a fault. He likes alcohol, so drinking buddies is a possibility.
Enemies. Woooo. I expect enemies with Merlie thanks to his abrasive personality. He doesn't give a damn if you don't like him or not because that doesn't matter. It isn't like people are gonna be knocking on his door for, god forbid, offending them. It's rare to hear an apology from him. When he acts, he lets the pieces fall wherever they do just because they can. Overall, he is a rather formidable opponent: He's had combat training and is effectively one of the most quickest and accurate marksmen, this end of California. Since he's also a hunter, I see him maybe shooting a werewolf one day. Heck, he might even get bit in the process.
So, what does a woman see in a gravedigger who is also a veteran? Well, I don't really know. He's brave, brash, and loyal. He's older, so experienced, I guess. And he's the strong, silent type. But really, I honestly don't expect anybody taking serious romantic interest in Merlie here. However, I do see maybe a few flings, blind dates set up by friends, or just experiments and pity-dates. He's the sort of guy that is cool enough but pathetic enough to get those. He does own a few suits and nice clothing, which, with a shaven face, makes him look like an entirely different guy. Yes, underneath his gruffness, he has manners.
Sooo that's Merlie for ya!
