"you thought these streets were paved in gold
but they're really dirty and dark"
NICKNAMES: Russ
AGE: twenty-six
DATE OF BIRTH: March 14th
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
ETHNICITY: Generic Caucasian (Scottish x British, some German, hint of Spaniard)
OCCUPATION: Graphic artist, Freelance photographer
SPECIES: werewolf
MEMBER GROUP: eastern pack
PLAYBY: Norman Reedus
HAIR COLOR: Medium Brown
EYE COLOR: Dark blue
BUILD: Fit-average, a little bit short for a guy (5 ft 8 in) but otherwise well built
STYLE: Casual, boring and almost thoughtless, his wardrobe is dominated by plain t-shirts, hoodies and generic denim jackets. He likes to layer his clothing and prefers things with long sleeves and/or hoods, but is otherwise completely uninteresting.
WOLF FORM: Though his human form is short, Russ' wolf form is just the opposite and is a little bit taller than average for a werewolf. He is dominated by his long legs and powerful figure, all covered by a thick coat of fur. His coat color can be described as "brown" most simply, though in truth he is primarily a tan/cream sort of color with the only true brown coloring occurring over his back, shoulders, head and face. His eyes remain blue in wolf form, but their dark shade can often make it difficult to tell from afar. He is also missing a rather large chunk of his left ear.
PERSONALITY TYPE: submissive
GOOD PERSONALITY TRAITS: calm/cool/collected, patient, curious, observant, dedicated, sensitive, adaptable
BAD PERSONALITY TRAITS: apathetic, gloomy, negative/pessimistic, insecure, modest/humble/selfless, obedient, self-depreciative
DIRTY LITTLE SECRET: Undiagnosed schizophrenic, Russ hears voices on a regular basis, up to two or three at a time. The voices are not loud or obnoxious, and always seem to reflect Russ' inner most thoughts and feelings anyway, so he has not told anyone about them and considers them normal. But they can be a source of anxiety for him as they tend to whisper negative things that he typically then tries to either verify or disprove. They are also somewhat distracting so he can seem distant, even spacey at times, unintentionally of course. With no desire to be considered crazy by normal standards, he keeps all of this information to himself relatively religiously.
HABITS: stutters somewhat nervously when talking/flirting with women, has a tendency to look around a lot rather than making eye contact in conversation, often mistakenly hears his name called when no one has said anything
HOBBIES: Photography, hiking, puzzles, cooking (loves to cook)
TALENTS: he's a talented chef, but is more well known for his artistic abilities as a photographer and graphic artist
THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS: nature and natural/rural landscapes, storms/rain/various weather happenings, cooking (but not necessarily eating, ironically), reading, animals and insects of almost all types, particularly spiders, physical contact
PRIZED POSSESSIONS: Photograph of his older brother kept in his wallet, white gold chain necklace with Celtic cross pendant
BIRTHPLACE: Irving, California
FAMILY: deceased mother, unknown father, deceased older brother, human aunt (mother's older sister) in Seattle whom he keeps in regular touch with
HISTORY:
- Mother was human originally, but was bitten and raped by a male werewolf, causing her to become one as well (very very much against her will). She was young and unaware of werewolf existence, so it was all very traumatic an experience for her.
- Russell and his slightly older twin brother, Phil were both born werewolves as a result. Their mother knew nothing about werewolves and wanted nothing to do with them, so they had to teach themselves how to use their powers.
- Mother committed suicide when Russell was 6 years old, the mental strain of being a werewolf was simply too great for her, not to mention caring for two children she never even wanted. It was all simply too stressful.
- Phil and Russ were ignored by most of their mother's family, abandoned because of their monstrous species. Only their mother's sister, April, cared enough to take them in, and of course she was then abandoned by the family as well.
- She moved the boys to Seattle, where they grew up, for the most part.
- Phil was eventually killed in a motor vehicle accident one full moon (he was hit by a car) when the boys were about 16 years old. Russ blames himself for his brother's death.
- He very quickly fled Seattle, and has not gone back since.
- Spent much of his early 20's on the East coast, specifically in the artistic scenes of New York City and Philadelphia, where he made a bit of a name for himself as a graphic designer after attending and graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Graphic Design.
- Had his artwork stolen by one of the publishing companies he was working for at the time, resulting in a big copyright scandal, which he ultimately lost. Black Listed on the East coast, he had to flee back West to start over again.
- Still avoids Seattle, and seems uncomfortable in motor vehicles, but he keeps in touch with his aunt via phonecalls.
