Rant!

Grr grr grr! I'm so pissed! On FB, someone made the comment on how the book of everything is ALWAYS better than the movie or whatever. I put this good discussion about how books and movies are two different media and that one cannot just dump a whole story and make it into a movie and make it work. And how there are some works that I feel, personally, are better as movies than books. Ewww, then she makes the implication that I like books less than her by saying: "Well, I love books, so to each your own." Or something like that. That pissed me off because reading is such a huuuuuge part of who I am. I am an avid reader and this person, I know for a fact, didn't even know who Oscar Wilde is or even John Steinbeck! Gahhhh. GRRRRR GRRR GRRRRRR. So how can you even say you love books/literature/reading when you can't even name literary classics??? And, furthermore, how can you accuse me of not liking books when not even a month ago, I was praising several books and when two weeks ago, I finished five NOVELS within one week. Granted, they were fluffy, but still, I FRIGGIN READ. And I read A LOT! And she can't even name any of the literary classics except Shakespeare and Charles Dickens, but they have become so prevalent in pop culture ANYWAYS that it doesn't really count!

But seriously, I'm sorry Tea! I'm not sure if that comment about her liking books really implied that you like them less than her - the way I see it she just didn't feel like getting into that discussion and is just stating that she, personally, in her own opinion, just prefers books to movies.

Yeah I guess I am just a little agitated bc my dog is sick. But I just don't believe she can say she likes books when I never hear her talking about reading books on FB or elsewhere and when she just reads manga like... all the time! ALL her FB updates are on what manga she reads and stuff. While a lot of mine are on a book I'm enjoying at the moment! I'm not reading one right now though bc I'm busy with school, but I do put on fb that I'm sad of that fact, lol. And even if that was what she meant, then she totally disregarded my whole post about the differences between books and movies:

You CAN'T make sweeping generalizations on which you like more. I like some movies better than I like some books and vice versa. And, I like those movies for being movies and those books for being books.
